Theres also another chapter on pet rabbit facts, training your house rabbit, and look before you leap. Which explains the responsible way to sell pet rabbits to the community and such. Will share those laterz. :)

Edit: In another chapter that talks about caging requirements, it also says that spayed and neutered rabbits make the best pets. Then talks about spaying and neutering ages. Also gives recommended cage space requirements for certain breeds. Then says that ll aspects of caging should be researched. Basically saying if you want to build a large pen for your bunny its ok. Or if you want to keep them in a something smaller, its also ok.

But as I was reading the section about nutrition, I ran across what they have to say about vegetables. And this is researched, mind you.

*The addition to fruits and vegetables to the animals diet can cause severe gastrointestinal problems that will often times lead to fatal dihrea(recent amount of posts in bunny owners anyone?)If one has to add fruits and vegetables to the diet, they should be fed in very small amounts, and one should only use the dark green vegetables. Light green vegetables should be avioded as feed additives to the rabbits diet due to the possibility of adding access amount of fluid to the diet.*

So basically its saying its ok to feed veggies, and fruits. BUt be careful when feeding them. And only feed certain ones cause they can cause gi problems. And only feed them in small amounts as treats.

That tells me that arba is thoroughly researching the veggie diet. And is proving how unhealthy it can be to feed your pet that crap. And what can be safely fed.

But i forgot. Arba is just a breeding org that uses outdated information. And never scientifically backs up anything they have written. Though over half of their nutrition, and pet chapters in the newer edition of the book seem to be written by dvms and even a rabbit rescuer.

You know Im not exactly sure what happened with a posted over in bunny owners that bred their polish rabbits together. But I was reading stupid pet owners over it. The post is kool. But this particular poster/reply bashing me does piss me off.

Either she doesn't want competition in the BYB field, or it's a sign of the coming apocalypse.

Yes I am going to tell someone who is purposely cross breeding rabbits, or breeding petstore bought bunnies together for no purpose other then breeding for the hell of it NOT TO BREED THEM. And I don't raise Polish anyhow. I could give shit less what my competitors do, or if they beat me or what. Im not greedy when it comes to competition. So fuck you rhine cat.

If people like that would get a reality check they'd find out that most people breeding purebred rabbits do not like other people cross breeding. Good fucking god I wish I wasn't banned from there. Cause I'd go rip her a new asshole. But i guess need to try and ignore idiots like that. I love how the attitude is that I am still a BYB with those idiots over there, even though I have won the national show with a rabbit that was bred in my own rabbitry. *Rolls eyes.*

I am proud to say that I now own the #1 standard chinchilla breeding buck of the chinchilla breed. My #60 buck won the standard chinchilla nationals at the arba national convention! Over 148 other rabbits in the breed. So now when I go back to collect my rabbits thursday, I get to do a photoshoot with purina rabbit chow(because thats what i feed) and arba. With purina he'll be featured in their rabbit ads through most rabbit magazines affiliated with arba across the country.

And it doesnt end there. Next he gets to compete for best in group. And if he wins that best in show!

Woo hoo. Got my hillsdale county fair premium check already. kinda surprised because they dont usually send those out till the end of october. :) Muh buns, and paintings won $53 total in premium money. I can buy stuff and pay some bills with that. Well that combined with my regular check. :P

Disney's Never cry wolf is a great movie. Borrowed buds vhs tape of it and watched it the other night. Loved it. Loved how it was a combination of a fictional story/documentary. The scenery was beautiful. Yet the movie is very haunting in the style of a mild thriller. Very sad, gross, and funny in some parts. I highly recommend watching it. *Note to self.* Try to locate it on dvd.

Does anyone know if and when the young black stallion is supposed to come to dvd? Ive seen previews and stuff for over a year saying it was coming soon. But haven't been able to find it in any stores yet.

Oh my! Oh my! Lookit what I got today at the livestock auction. I went down there to look for cheap rabbit cages today, and lookit what I came home with!

In other news i discovered what happens when you talk to an insane person at work called candy. She starts babbling about funny shit. :P Me and her, and two guys(Al and david) were sitting in the break room together. Candy walks in and asks how my mom was doing. I said fine. She makes the comment about how she doesn't talk to my mom online anymore. well i mentioned that shes pre-occupied with a boyfriend. She starts getting nosey and asking all sorts of questions. So me, being new, and not knowing who the fuck she was, asked her what her name was. This was the response.

Candy, spazzing out: I'm not telling you my name!

Al starts laughing: I'll tell you her name!

Candy: Don't you tell her my name! *Turns to me*: I'm not gonna tell you my name because I asked you a question, and you answered me with a question!

Al and david start snickering at her. I'm sitting there at the table doing my best not to start laughing at her.

So I continue the conversation: So my mom tells me you collect indian stuff.

She puffs out her chest, and declares; I do not collect indian stuff. I am a navaho(sp?) advocate, and member(of some society for indian collectors). I don't collect all thatstuff imported from china!

Me: Thinking she was fucking nuts.

Then it finally hits me who she is. Because ive heard some much stupid crap about her from my mom lol.

Me: You must be candy.

Al: Yep she is!(hes smiling as he says it)

Candy: You smart ass I didn't want you to tell her my name!

Al: So I hear they are having corn school in lagrange this weekend.(Hick indiana thing. Its kinda like a fair with exhibits and rides and stuff. Only it lasts three days instead of a week.)

Candy: Starts rambling on aboutsome shit about how they needed to present that a little better because "its all about the harvest of the corn" Then she says yep. "All about the harvest of the corn."

The buzzer rings. Me, Al, and David are all kracking up. I called him a smart ass for it. Because he knew the corn school thing would get her going. He just smiles and laughs. And then we all went back to work...

The ignorance of ambersaigh and silverblaidd strikes again. This time in a sister community of stupid pet owners(ran by blaidd), about someone from smart pet owners asking about oppossum ownership. Because she found a sick baby and is doing research/possibly wanting it as a pet/possibly seeking help through a rehab center. In no way is she a stupid pet owner. IMHO. Flarecarrot, and minteckers are also *featured* for commenting to her at smart pet owners.

Oppossums can be kept as pets with proper permits. Even though I would never have one as a pet. (Personally I think they are cute as babies, but uglier then hell as adults). And they belong in the wild. I guess that must mean I illegally own the city bred ones that come into my garage/rabbitry every year for food and shelter. *sarcasm.*

Of course kakiyumi has opened up her stupid mouth about minteckers gerbil breeding habits again.

Yes 26 x26 is the minimum cage requirements for most rabbit breeds. excluding something like a flemish.

This chicks rabbit is shaking uncontrollable, and goes off its feed sometimes. Instead of taking it to a vet,she automatically assumes its a GI problem just because a book she read told her so. Oh and you should wait 48 hours before you take your pet to a vet Because you can treat it at home, and vetting your rabbit every time it gets sick will make you go broke.

But WTF? If you don't know whats causing it, you don't wait around 24 hours to see a vet. And if its a money issue, you make the animal as comfortable as possible, and then get it to a vet when you can afford it. Otherwise why have the pet if can't afford to take care of it?

The mind boggles.

edit: Ok update for deliriousgal for you know where. Another breeder from RO has been keeping im contact with him and feeding it back to me!

Says the kid wants to sell the babies to flea markets. That he supposedly has a nest box for them, and extra cages for the babies. And claims to have raised rabbits before. More drama from him in rabbits only. He is aaron1.

Ohhhh boy. An interesting conversation I had with a spo rabbit owner off of rabbits only. Cut because of the pictures he sent me. People may copy and paste at will. :)*Note* I had to be nice and *play* along because this is a young kid I was talking to. Here we go.

Does anyone else notice anything wrong with those!!??

Shit caked to the bottoms. Extremely unkept with rusty wires. And I dont mean just the bottom either! Caging too small for them. A spillable dish in one of them. Also was trying to trick him into signing up for photobucket, and posting those on rabbits only himself, so people could see who was keeping them that way.

Edit: Also mixes in sweethorse feed. Which is only recommended for giving to show rabbits in small doses for conditioning purposes. If fed improperly it can make them very sick.

And I think he was hinting at cross breeding them. Hence I figured thats why he asked me if I ever cross bred my own rabbits. >:(

In other news I'm rigging up a irrigation thing of some sorts over my garage to keep the temperature down on the rabbits. And we got the church to remove part of a dead tree coming from their side that was dropping limbs on the yard and the roof. Wheee!

Work sucked. I find out tomorrow if I have any hours next week. They hired two extra subway people. One to train on nights. One to train on days. Aint that nice? So, Ill probably get less then twenty hours a week.

Tomorrow they are hiring another subway person. :( Great. that means my hours get cut next week. I need to leave this job:(

On a side note, I really pissed some people off on showbunny. Oh well. Guess I burst their little ego bubble.

Ok. its just so wrong to let your cats outside. my cats all go indoors, and outdoors. they would be driving me nuts and climbing the walls if I didn't. Since ive had housecats and live in town, ive never had a problem with disease, or getting hit. I do however, think its cruel to not let an animal out when its going crazy being kept indoors. Some can adapt to indoor life. Some can't. Maybe the poster should leash train the cat or something.

Yeah its such a bad thing to feed your snake a feeder animal. Or admit to selling your animals to petstores. Not all petstores are bad. That does not mean that mrs doolittle is a 'feeder breeder.' Or a bad pet owner. Such is life. The snake has to eat.

Instead of flaming her and calling her names. Maybe we should be mature and try to educate her and explain to her why selling to petstores could be bad. It adds to the pet population. Alot of petstore rats and other animals do end up being dumped in shelters because of it. And it encourages impulse buyers. There it was explained nicely without flaming and name calling. :)That does not mean she doesn't care for her animals. It doesnt mean she's cruel for feeding rats/exectra to a pet snake. Again, as cruel as it sounds, the snake has to eat.

And if they would read through her journal or know her, they would realize that the companion she had for her rat had died of old age just before she moved cross country. It wouldn't make sense to buy it a friend before then. And then risk it dying from the stress of moving. I am sure she plans on getting him a non feeder friend once she gets her feet under her.

*Shakes head.* Some people jump the gun too quickly.
